Ballad was born out of frustration. Frustration and a few dirty beers. We love art, we love pretty, we love edgy, new, intelligent, retro and informed creativity, and we wanted to see more of it…but not from the same sources as we always do. Even our hero’s came from somewhere, and why not put our efforts into finding the next one?

Starting out in the industry is a shock. And it’s hard. Money and jobs go to money and names, its never what you know, but who you know and to be told numerous times that your degree counts for nothing in the industry…well, we thought that the way it works should be shaken up a bit.

We have set out to create Ballad Of… a community of emerging and exciting artists with the shared goal of collaborating to produce outstanding work for publication and portfolios.
