Ballad Of

Muse

by Laura Coughlan on 20 May 2015

This morning's Brand New Art We Heart comes to you in the spellbinding form of photographer Lolo Bates & her brand new polaroid photo story 'Muse'. You may remember that we featured this dreamy lady back in April and we seriously could not help but fall in love with Laura's work all over again after setting our eyes on this enchanting series.

Beautiful and simply bewitching in every sense of the word, Laura creates a world full of nostalgia and allure. With a dreamy washed out colour palette and spontaneous light leaks galore, it feels as though you are viewing her world through beautifully whimsical, rose tinted glasses. There is a gorgeous sense of movement within the images, with the face of her muse often obscured. This sense of anonymity; a faceless muse, transforms Laura's model into almost goddess like in nature. Super mythical with subtly eerie tones; Laura's glitter filled images could not be any further from reality. Eugenia Viti's gorgeous illustrations make these dreamy pastel series really pop, with glittery stars and perfect washes of watercolour completing this majestic series perfectly.
