Today's Brand New Art We Heart is the 'One Hundred Hideous Hounds' collection from illustrator Faye Moorhouse. There's a certain quirky charm about her illustrations that has me captivated. Check them out for yourself below.

Hi Faye. Welcome to Ballad Of. Tell us about yourself and your One Hundred Hideous Hounds project.

I am a British illustrator. I grew up deep in the Sussex countryside where there was only one bus an hour into town. I now live in Brighton, which is much more exciting! I did a degree in illustration which I finished in the summer of 2011 and since then I’ve worked part-time as a freelance illustrator alongside various boring day-jobs. In May 2014 I quit my day job and have been working for myself ever since. It’s something I never thought would happen and I still can’t quite believe I’m able to earn a wage through something I love.

The ‘One Hundred Hideous Hounds’ project was something I decided to do just to give me an excuse to draw cute, gross, and funny-looking dogs!

It took me a couple of days to paint them all, and I asked my instagram followers to share pictures of their own hideous hounds for a bit of inspiration.

They are currently available to buy as originals and a print of the whole collection of hounds is also available. I also plan to compile all of the paintings into a zine.
