Ballad Of

Noah Pharrell

by Megan Blackburn on 19 September 2015

Today’s Brand New Artist is photographer Noah Pharrell. Creating photos in a consistent cloud of glitter, Noah has mastered the art of innocent teenage glamour. Using fashion trends as a vehicle to move her work in new directions, Noah claims the passion behind her images comes from creating a new world and ‘finding a deep connection with her dreams’. Hazy and seemingly always tinged with a warm pink glow, dreamlike is certainly how we would describe Noah’s work - check out her photos and interview below:

Introduce your work to us in three words?

Adorable, naive, indiscreet

How did you get into photography?

When I was at University, I realised that taking pictures, creating an atmosphere and a world, was simply amazing, so amazing that I want never to stop doing that, and since then, for almost three years, I’m trying to improve my skills creating BIIIG worlds, better than the previous one.

A lot of your work is fashion based, is fashion important to you?

Well, actually yes. Fashion is important, it is the based of my work, but not the wheel that moves it. Truly, I check fashion constantly, and I adapt my photos to new trends, but always with my essence.

What is your favourite shoot you’ve done and why?

Hahaha so difficult, but maybe one of my last shoots during my time in Munich where I felt a deep connection with my dreams, those dreams I thought I had forgotten. I mean the fashion shoot with Christina Rasputin at Most Wanted Models. I am really proud of that shoot, I had a huge opportunity to work with amazing people (Nelsin as art director - he is always by my side; Tamara Kraner as make-up artist and the gorgeous and talented fashion designer Laura Boecker), they made my work flow through my lens. Such a fantastic time there and if you let me, I want to say THANK YOU Paula for trust in me and my work.

What do you find to be good sources of inspiration for your work?

INSTAGRAM, INSTAGRAM and INSTAGRAM…thank god for that app, it makes my life so easy! Also fashion magazine like Numéro, L’Officiel, Ballad of… ;-), LULA...

What would be your dream as a photographer?

Travelling round the world taking photos with my analogue and digital, working for different magazines and to publish a book with my best pics.

For now, what can we expect to see next from you?

Traveling round Europe, specifically Germany, shooting models and making editorials, so never stop looking at my Instagram :D
