We’re going on a trip! And we are very excited about it. Yasmine has been in Newcastle all week, lucky bugger…and now the rest of the Balladeers are joining her…well kinda, if we can persuade her to stay for ANOTHER weekend, but she seems keen to get back to the Big Smoke… Yasmine, our feelings are hurt!! Anyway, we can’t wait to do some dancing and some catching up with the Toon-based girlies. It may get messy…
Let us know if there is anything we HAVE to do while we’re up there…
Much Love x
I have spent the evening watching Future Shorts, these are great!!!
I have found it hard but I will only highlight just the one tonight - Hibernation -

Ballad Of…headed down to Madame Jojo’s and got a double whammy of musical treats. We were reviewing Bertie Blackman for the magazine, but were thrilled when we found out The Correspondents were also playing! Yay for us!! Sorry its took us so long to put up, we are reliving the moments from that evening! Ooo and Gok was there too
So, Square America got us all nostalgic on our night in at Ballad HQ, and teamed with the ‘I remember when…there was a printed family album‘ in the inbox we got the shoe box of photos down.

Very into my London history at the moment. Doing a lot of looking back Just reading I Never Knew That About London by Christopher Winn. Are people AWARE that Pocahontas, yes, the very POCAHONTAS came to London with her hubby, and lived and died here?! She is buried in Gravesend!! That is the biggest thing that ‘I never knew’ so far. Sheesh! Blow me down with a feather!

YOU AND I
In November 2009 the Ballad Of team had the pleasure in attending the lauch of Louise Anderson at Tiffinbites in London. The night (organised by Richard Anderson of Liberty Radio) filled us with entertainment, members of the public were able to admire the talented art work from exhibitors such as Mohammed El Haddi, Farida Begum and Mary Ibeh whilst listening to the lovely melodies of singer/songwriter Sloozie and Nicole Sonia. We were also very excited to see Melissa Leon’s jewelry on display and delighted to watch one of her workshops in action.
Louise Anderson has a designed for the likes of Topshop, Hollister and Thomas Pink, and is one to watch!
“Throughout my artistic career, I have always created pieces that broke traditional moulds and want to inspire artists and attendees to look outside of the box and take a journey of artistic creativity to see the world through my eyes, hence the reason why I called my company Lulu and Iris. Lulu is my nickname and Iris for my eyes” Louise Anderson, Creator of Lulu and Iris
